Cosmic Gate consists of DJs and producers Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi). The duo first met in 1997 while they had many releases with different projects for the X-IT label in Cologne. It was in November 1998 when they met in a studio by sheer coincidence that they decided to do a track together named ‘The Drums’, which explored hard trance. Cosmic Gate was thus born and there has been no looking back for the duo.

They both quit their resident DJ jobs in two of Germany’s biggest clubs and began remixing for artists like Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, Blank & Jones, and DJ Toesto. Their follow-up singles ‘Somewhere over the rainbow/Fire Wire’ and ‘Mental Atmosphere’ reached the top of the charts in both Germany and UK.

Their soaring popularity meant that their very first album was a huge success in Germany as it went top 30, no mean feat for a techno album. International fame followed them after several gigs, remixes, and releases. Their incredible energy and ability to emotionally connect with crowds made them favorites of swaying fans, wherever they went.

The single ‘The Truth’ and the album ‘No More Sleep’ became smash hits in the club scene in Europe apart from being chart toppers. In fact the single went straight to the number one spot on the German dance charts, incredibly in the first week of its release, after entering the charts at a lowly 31! Their next offering, a single titled ‘Double –A-Side’ featured the vocals of female singer Jan Johnston. This duo makes for a heady mix, lap it up.
