Sandra Collins - Las Vegas Trance DJ

Sandra Collins
Dubbed ‘The Trance Goddess,’ Sandra Collins is one of the finest progressive house and Trance DJs ever. Her hypnotic grooves and stunning melodies have captured the imagination of dance floors like never before. A big name in the global dance music today, her journey began back in her early years when she was born into a famous Las Vegas show business family. She began DJing in Phoenix in 1989 and soon her talent was recognized and she became a regular in parties including the New York ‘Storm’ raves with Frankie Bones and The Fifth Column with Josh Wink in 1992..
Her musical journey led her to Los Angeles the very same year, in search of greener pastures. She had a three year residency at LA’s famous ‘King’ and ‘Sketchpad’ clubs. She was simultaneously a guest DJ on Powertools 106 FM and was also helping to set up the first US based office for German Trance label Eye Q - Harthouse. From 1995 to 1998, she was a resident at LA’s popular weekly ‘Metropolis’ along with Doc Martin. She met Sasha here and then on played alongside greats like Paul van Dyk, Chemical Brothers, and Orbital, to name only a few. Her popularity charts zoomed as she began to DJ across the US and overseas.
Her fame saw her being featured in a Coca-Cola commercial apart from gracing the covers of ‘XLR8R’ magazine. She has also been featured in Fix, Mixmag, Sweater, and BPM magazines, to mention only a few. In between touring, she found time to record her first mix CD ‘Lost in Time’ for Fragrant Music in 1997. The CD got her nominated as ‘Outstanding Eletronica Artist’ in California’s BAMMIE Awards and ‘Best Trance DJ’ in the 1998 Global DJ Awards. Sandra then started recording her own tracks, the first of which was ‘Ode to Our’ b/w ‘Red’ through Fragrant. It was a massive hit in Europe and US and was in fact named ‘Trance Release of the Month’ by XLR8R magazine.
She took up residency in the prestigious Twilo in New York in 1998. She firmly established herself in the international DJ scene here. She has this uncanny ability to connect with audiences which won her the opening night slot at Woodstock ’99 with 80,000 dance music fans, going gaga over her. She has residencies at Las Vegas ‘Utopia’ and Chicago’s ‘Orabar’, when not traveling around the world.
Her ‘Tranceport 3’ has set new standards in the trance genre. A follow up to the global trance introduction of Paul Oakenfold‘s ‘Tranceport 1’ and Dave Ralph’s ‘Tranceport 2’, Sandra’s contribution takes dance music to an altogether different plane. We are in a trance Sandra, keep playing.
