Pete Tong

British DJ Pete Tong was born on July 1960. He has played in virtually every superclub and event around the world. His skills as a producer are legendary, having done sound tracks for movies like ‘The Beach’, ‘24 Hour Party People’, and ‘Human Traffic’. Pete is the name behind the world’s first collection of TV style music shows which are aired weekly and can be accessed using a mobile phone. This iconic figure in UK is the source of inspiration behind the successful film ‘It’s all gone Pete Tong’. Such is his phenomenal popularity.

Pete was born in Dartford and educated in Rochester. He was inspired by the underground soul scene of the 70s. He started DJing when in his teens booking gigs in the nearby town hall and also as a part of local bands like ‘Soul Mafia’. He used to play soul and dance music during those days. It was in 1979 that Pete got a break as a journalist for the monthly magazine Blues & Soul. He was with them till 1983 after which he began appearing in BBC Radio Medway and London. He got his big break with Radio One presenting a magazine feature on dance music. There has been no looking back for Britain’s most loved DJ, ever since.

Pete is a regular at ‘Pure Pacha’, Friday nights at Pacha Ibiza. His fabulous musical quality can also be heard at London’s Ministry of Sound. He has collaborated with leading artists like James Talk, Paul Harris, and Chris Cox to come out with truly astounding music.

Pete is most famous for his association with BBC Radio one which has made him a cult figure. This versatile genius success as a DJ, producer, and broadcaster makes him one of a kind phenomenon. Pete loves music and wants everyone to do so. This is evident in his tracks which are aimed at moving dance floors.
