DJ Joop

DJ Joop born in 1975 in Leeuwarden (Holland). Dj Joop first came into contact with records and turntables at the age of 13.

When he was 16 Dj Joop started to frequent a local club in his hometown on the weekends. His love for music grew each year stronger and stronger.

JOOP, THE MULTITALENT JOOP IS BEST KNOWN IN THE NETHERLANDS AND MAYBE EVEN MORE SO ABROAD, THANKS TO TRANCEELEMENTS.COM. JOOP HAS PLAYED AND STILL PLAYS MUCH IN NORWAY, TURKEY, POLAND, RUSSIA AND CHINA AND IS KNOWN FOR HIS FAMOUS GIGS AT SENSATION BLACK (ID-T), TRANCE ENERGY MYSTERYLAND AND INNERCITY. HIS MOST RECENT RELEASE 'THE WORLD / ANOTHER WORLD' HAS PLACED HIM ON THE MAP GLOBALY AS A GREAT PRODUCER AS WELL. JOOP IS A NUMBER ONE TRANCE & EVENT FLOORFILLER. 

Dj Joop won the Twix Talent Room at Innercity in 2001. From there on things started happening quickly. Joop's love for music flourished and so it did for others in the industry. Joop has played at very large events such as Mystery Land (2002/2003), Trance Energy (2002/2003/2004), Sensation Black VIP: Amsterdam Arena (2004), Innercity with the ID&T Radio Tour along with fellow DJ's: Marco V, Johan Gielen, Dana, Yves de Ruyter and Armin van Buuren.

Dj Joop is on the Dutch ranking list of international DJ's, DJ Joop is listed as number 40, and this is well deserved. I spoke a very long time with Joop at Sensation Black in 2004 in the VIP room. We spoke about the relationships with large music events worldwide and entertainment and media. I still touch base with DJ Joop almost weekly now, a wonderful guy with a serious determination to stay involved with trance music. He truly loves what he does, this is the key!

DJ Joop plays with a style that really gets you into the moment, there are great introductions to building beats and mysterious sounds and voices placed inside the experience he portrays through music and being a deejay. He gets people on the floor, do not expect your girlfriend to sit still; when Joop plays no-one sits, period!

DJ Joop has established a strong well rounded reputation in the Clubs and Techno & Trance scenes around the globe; launching a record in 2002. Joop's first release on an ID&T label: a brilliant track called "Act of God", this song was a success around Europe and even the USA. DJ's like Marcel Woods, Cosmic Gate, Snowman, and Blank & Jones, Johan Gielen, Mark Sherry, Armin van Buuren, Matt Darey, Sterling Moss, Quicksilver, M.I.K.E., Paul Mendez and Cor Fijneman included DJ Joop in the mix.

Joop's 2nd release was "Sonsuz", containing Turkish vibes and vocals. The other side (side 2) includes a large Mark Norman remix. (Black Hole) This Sonsuz record has a great following and playtime rotation by many global dj's like Judge Jules, Van Buuren, Cor Fijnenman, Johan Gielen, Simon Patterson, and many more deejays.

JOOP - Another World [High Contrast]
I've never heard a label on such a roll after the first four releases, every one has been of the highest quality. Even though this is the flip side, it is the side which appeals the most to me. Joop is a name I've never heard of before...;) but rest assured these productions are due to get a severe hammering. Dark strings and a tough trance riff over some hard percussion is the order of the day with this one

- Marc West (Passion): Both Joop tracks are good, Prefer "Another World" out of the two.

- Steve Hellstrip (Thrillseekers): Joop The World: Top record, will definitely be hammering this for some time to come. 9/10"

Joop also mixed an ID&T compilation-CD, which was the official Trance Energy 2002 album.

Next to the Holland, Joop performs in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Turkey as well.
