NU NRG consists of the duo Andrea Ribeca and Giuseppe Ottaviani. These two Italians found NU NRG in 1999. Their astonishing trance melodies have become their trademark sound.

Andrea was born in 1974 and started DJing when he was just 15. He gradually got a foot hold in the electronic music scene, setting up his own cozy studio and producing his first single in 1992. Local digs at clubs and sessions at radio stations in and around Rome kept him busy and pretty much focused on a DJing career.

Giuseppe was born in 1978 and learnt piano as a youngster. Quitting school midway, he took up the challenge of becoming a DJ, since he felt that it was his real calling. It was in 1998 that Giuseppe found fame with a radio station near Rome, as a host of a weekly two hour radio show. It was sometime around this time that Giuseppe met Andrea and the rest as they say is history.

Their musical goals met and their first production together with the track ‘Dreamland’, a great success led them to Paul Van Dyk, who signed them up with his Vandit Records label. ‘Dreamland’ was a chart buster across Europe, climbing to the German ODC top 40 chart. The track also featured on Paul van Dyk’s album ‘The Politics of Dancing’.

Touring all over Europe and the world, they were an instant success in their first German live performance at the Loveparade 2002. 2003 saw them hit real big time with their live performance in Sheffield in UK, London’s Heaven Club, Energy, Switzerland’s biggest indoor event, and in the famous Arc in New York. Their 2003 release ‘The space flower’ was again a sensational hit. Their next offering ‘Connective’ too was lapped up by eager fans. A great future beckons NU NRG.
