Rap - Very Sexy DJ

Born Charissa Saverio in Singapore, DJ Rap spent her childhood in various locations around the world before settling down in Southampton, England. It was due her step-father’s background as a luxury hotel manager that their family had to frequently relocate before she got involved with the British rave scene as a teenager.

From playing gigs at small clubs she soon graduated to working as a producer and mixer. Her prodigious talent meant that she released her initial tracks during the 1990s, which were underground breakbeat favorites. Her ‘The Adored’ recorded with Jeff B was released on Raw Bass Records and set up her career. She has been for long considered one of the best mixers in the business as well as being one of jungle’s best producers. She had a stint with East London pirate station Rave FM.

Her hardcore/jungle classics released during the early 90s are still fresh in memory. They included smash hits like ‘Engineers without Fears’ and ‘Spiritual Aura’. This Sexy DJ has her own mixing agency as well. She released her first album ‘Learning Curve’ in 1999. This was followed by the mix album ‘Brave New World’ in 2000. Her next mix album production ‘Propa Classics’ came in 2001. Her ‘bulletproof’ yet another mix album released in 2005 and set dance floor crowds moving.

This versatile artist is the first female artist ever to be sponsored by Playstation to do music for their games. She has appeared on the covers of numerous newspapers and magazines, including gracing the cover for the Weekly Calendar. A natural in front of the camera she has appeared in many a talk show, award shows, and events, apart from appearing in five of her own videos and co-starring with artist BT in two of his music videos.
